Finally heading out once more, with mixed feelings, happy to be heading off, not so happy doing so on my own.
Preparation has been disorganised, but I believe I have most things loaded, I haven't flown the drone in almost a year, so fingers crossed it still functions.
I have a nice new Cannon camera which I hope will produce some good product, I have yet to read the instructions & learn how to use it.
Erin will be house & dog sitting, so good and trusted hands in place for that.
Its my birthday today, I'm 65 and alone.
First day on the road-:
A pretty non eventful day, checking all equipment is performing as it should, 470klm covered, all OK.
First night free camp at Duaringa, a little damp and I was able to eat smelly herrings for dinner as no one will worry how bad my breath is.
Patricia made us some marshmallow bunnies & baby bunnies at morning tea which we have taken with us, one in each van so that they don't breed any further.
Ready to depart on a showery morning, just waiting for Erin to arrive and take charge of Rocko and the house.
A little wet.
Trying to learn to use the new camera while driving. (men can multi task)
Morning tea at Isis with Grahams parents and sister, 'Patricia'
First camp at Duaringa.
It is now 2 days later and we are camped on the Alice River, South of Barcaldine. a new place for me and very pretty. I have been giving the new camera a workout so lots of pictures to post today.
Unfortunately I barely have a connection and the pictographs are all VHD so I may not be able to upload until I have a better connection as I refuse to compromise on quality.
On the road again through central Queensland coal country, passing a coal train.
Sue & Mark at Drummond Range lookout
