Another day on the road, this time from 54klm west of Mt Isa to Barkly Homestead.
Had an enjoyable days drive, the vast open country of the Northern Territory has an uplifting effect on my spirit, for the first time in a very long time I felt lighter and happier. This always happens to me when I come to this area of the world, I think I could have lived here if things had been different.
The stereo in the ute was turned up very loud & I spent the day singing at the top of my voice, it was extremely cathartic and I felt like a burden had been lifted by the time we arrived at Barkly. That soon changed when my mobile phone played up & would not do as I wanted. That's life.
My friends came for breakfast at Mckinley.
Mckinlay is a little sad, but the pub is great.
Some of the incredible country between Cloncurry & Mt Isa.
Our bush camp 55klm west of Mt Isa.
After an excellent wet season the desert is alive & green.
Camoweal.
Magnificent open country entering NT.
Me.
A few seconds of my first drone flight in a year, it was very windy & I was very rusty on the controls.
I made more friends at Barkley Homestead.
